It’s been 407 days yet, despite the fading media spotlight, protesters don’t stop demanding for their rights as Indigenous Peoples. The protest is led by Amis singer Pana Kusui, Bunun singer Nabu Husungan Istanda, and Pangcah activist Mayaw Biho. They are protesting against the guidelines in handling traditional indigenous territories, taking effect in February 2017. The guidelines, however, only allow state-owned land to be designated as traditional territory even though the Indigenous Peoples Basic Law says traditional territory can be either state-owned or private land.
